British Taekwondo is proud to share a moment of history for our Poomsae Referee Community, as five outstanding UK referees have been officially selected to officiate at the 17th European Poomsae Taekwondo Championships, taking place in Tallinn, Estonia.
This achievement marks a historic milestone — never before have five UK referees been selected simultaneously for a European Poomsae Championship. Their inclusion not only highlights the progress of our referee pathway but also inspires future generations of officials across the country.
The event will be hosted at the UNIBET Arena in the Estonian capital between April 16-17, 2025 and will bring together top Poomsae athletes and officials from across the continent.
Our selected referees representing the UK are:
Damian Duffy
Gillian Waite
Kambiz Ali
Thomas McGuinness
Bilal Naqshbandi
Each of these referees has demonstrated exceptional professionalism, international-level experience, and a steadfast commitment to Taekwondo officiating. Their selection by the European Taekwondo Union (ETU) is a testament to the quality and development of refereeing standards within British Taekwondo.
